as the rumors tell, this obscure piece of music was arranged by three acquaintances, who, by mere coincidence, formed a spontaneous, poly-toxic think tank one marvellous sunday morning, celebrating the beauty of old house music, while at the same time mocking the somehow cheap and predictable functionality of the four to the floor sound design. to honor the inspirational value of situations like these, the decision was made to share the result with a bigger audience. as a meta text, the lyrics form a tongue in cheek comment on nostalgic good old days aesthetics, and are simultaneously, and quite paradoxically, reminiscent of the utopian and transgressive vision of early house and techno music. if there is anything that we can retrieve from this vision today, it is the encouragement to create funny, pleasant and playful situations for ourselves and the like-minded, escaping the seriousness and boredom of the professionalized party and music business. and this is exactly the spirit, which is materialized on this piece of wax.

these redux releases are like buses, we dont hear anything for ages then they hit us with three killer eps in a row. following the grand corporation and machete savane comes the return of phoreski. we have not heard much from phoreski for a little while, but you will soon hear why when you put the needle to the record on these two new tracks. he has been busily building up his studio into an enviable aladdins den of vintage kit, wires and analogue recording equipment. all synths and vocals you hear on these tracks come from phoreski, no samples, no guests, no edits. he has been hinting at this raw, analogue authentic sound for a while, but these tracks showcase a producer at one with the machines. >brown biscuits< comes across like some lost italo/cosmic gem, but via the north east of england rather than the lakes of italy. >machines< flexes tight proto-house rhythms with some bass that will make mince meat of lesser club soundsystems whilst the feuding synth lines fight for attention. this is proper body music, play loud!

jamal moss is back on morphine, although you wouldnt think it by the sound of these painfully out-there tracks.both tracks clock in around the 13 minute mark and head deep into total-nutball territory. clued up sickness again on this excellent label. tip!

french fries delivers two originals on the cutting edge of modern bass. �space alarm� is right up in your face but artfully holds back right when you think it will go over the top. the inside �smoke wine� is more in the vein of last years smash �yo vogue,� yet more understated and deep which is rare for the genre. when i play these at the right time they always solicit an audible �ooooh� from the crowd at thedrops. remix #1 is by justin martin who really blows it up dirtybird style with almost a breakbeat old school electro beat. remix #2 is by dirtybird newcomers goldffinch via belgium who also deliver a really funk laden club version. both remixes are ace and the full release brings a very fresh sound to the label.
